Friendly service. Street parking. Affordable prices. Came here to pick up some hot food and empanadas... great deal. Ingredients are fresh.

I recently discovered this hidden gem and wish I had stopped in earlier! The owners are cheerful and helped explain the menu and history of the food origins when I was surprised to see Lebanese kibbeh integrated in Mexican cuisine. A delicious blend of cultures! The ingredients are fresh and the portions are generous. It's a worthy stop to try out authentic Yucatan food. I tried the cochinita pibil and loved it.

The building is small, and there are only a few folding tables outside to sit. No frills, but the tacos are a thrill. There's a Combo of 2 tacos and 1 Tamal, and the Tamal de Chaya is simple but amazing. Cochinita pibil is a soup-dripping, warm and savory with a lift of citrus. This may be the only time I've ever had turkey taste good. The relleno negro puts sweet, black achiote on a bland bird and I am obsessed! I had to order in Spanish and if the spiciness of my salsa is any indication, I may be the most gringa they've ever seen. Good new, tacos like this need no sauce and they are among LA's best.

I had wanted to try this place for years and finally went. I ordered the trio of taco de cochinita pibil, salbute, panucho to eat there. I got a couple things to go as well, tamales colados, kibis, and mini conchas. Everything was good, my fave were the tamales.

I've lived in the area my whole life and I've never been here. What a surprise!!! These restaurants are the best. A hole in the wall with amazing food. The restaurant is small located right on the corner of Hoover and 18th st. Street parking is available. I had no issues with that. There are a couple of tables set up outside. This restaurant is also a bakery. It looks like they have a great selection of bread available. They also have QR code posted for convenient ordering. I ordered the Two taco and Tamale Combo. The tacos were Cochinita Pibil. The Cochinita Pibil was very tender, juicy and flavorful. The lady working offered extra habanero sauce. That just amplified the flavor. The perfect amount of spice. The tamale I picked was very similar to the Central American tamales. I personally loved it. Will be coming back.

Stumbled into this hidden gem after a friend wanted to try Yucatecan food. I was excited to see such a varied menu, but this also made it hard for me to choose (which isn't a bad thing). I tried the Cochinita Pibil, Lechón, and Chirmole tacos, which were all unique and equally delicious. The salsas made here are sooo flavorful, and not too spicy for those that don't like too much heat. I also tried a Dtozobichay tamale, and it was to die for; very similar to Central American tamales. The service can be a bit slow, but the food more than makes up for it. Lastly the outdoor seating is great option if you want to try their food on the spot.

My hubbys family is from yucatan we have been looking for a place like this my hubby definitely enjoyed the food. And best of all he found his favorite childhood chips.

La Flor de Yucatan has catered lunch for our office twice. Delicious! They set up a selection of tamales, tacos, and bowls with several options for each. Helpful, friendly staff. Love the healthy options and the staff's willingness to customize each plate to your taste.

My friends have recommended this place to me so many times and I love it! The Cochinita pibil is amazing but I LOVE the tamales. Pro tip: save room for their weekend special, whatever it is, because the food is so good here!

Very small hole in the wall neighborhood bakery that also has delicious Yucatan/ Mayan style cuisine. I'm not too familiar with the nuances with different regional Mexican food so I apologize in advance if I appear to be blatantly naive. I've only been once but already the cochinita pibil and the colado tamale feel like must haves. I've wanted to come here for some time now and it was on some top tamale list in the area. I was near DTLA and thought it was the perfect time to go. I ended up ordering the two taco and tamale plate. So glad I did! For the tacos, I got the cochinita pibil and for the tamale, I got the colado (or the fluffy) tamale. I also got a hot chocolate or the champurrado even though it was a bit warm outside and in the middle of the day. The cochinita pibil tacos were just so darn juicy! Tender, citrusy pork oozing with flavor. Topped with the colorful onions with a nice little spice kick from the sauce. I squeezed some lemon on them for a bit zesty tartness. So juicy I had to hover over the plate so it wouldn't get everywhere. The colada tamale was something I don't think I knew existed. I had to look it up and noticed the interesting method it is typically made. As the name/description suggests, the tamale was super fluffy and my fork went through it like it was a slice of moist cake, except it was savory and not sweet. After a few bites, I poured the sauce over the top. That sauce was quite spicy. Between this tamale and the tacos, I was in heaven. Seriously the flavors and textures are right up my alley. The champurrado was fine. It was tasty, but couldn't tell if it was homemade. This place is a very tiny spot and I think there is only street parking available. I found a spot less than a block away no problem. Also, the menus inside seemed to be all in Spanish so I was using my high school comprehension in order to read it. There was a gentleman there that spoke perfect English that also helped me walk through the menu and ordering. Seating outside is limited and the place is probably more conducive to take out. I really wanna come back and try the other tamales as well as some of the other menu items.
